汽车电梯在GB7024-2008 《电梯、自动扶梯、自动人行道术语》里称之为非商用汽车电梯(non—commercial vehicle lift)，定义为“其轿厢适于运载小型乘客汽车的电梯” ， 在特种设备目录里属于货梯的一种。它在汽车4S店、维修车间，楼顶设停车场的大型商场、超市得到了越来越广泛的应用。

    In the national standard GB 7024-2008 Terminology of Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks, the car elevator is referred to as non-commercial vehicle lift, defined as "a lift whose car is suitable for carrying small passenger cars". It is classified as a type of cargo elevator in the Special Equipment Catalogue.

    This type of elevator has been increasingly widely used in automobile 4S stores, vehicle maintenance workshops, large shopping malls and supermarkets with rooftop parking lots.
